Columbia 13-Black continues to improve their game tournament by tournament. On Sunday, at the Mid-State Classic they made steady improvement to their performance going 1-2 in their pool and forcing a tie-breaker in one loss that went to 13-15. Their win in match three of pool play was convincing against another U-13 team, and their momentum carried them to a win in their consolation quarterfinal match as well. A tough U-14 opponent in the semifinal stopped their shot at a championship, but for the second tournament in a row, Columbia 13-Black was the best U-13 team in the field.
